Leo Roybal ; Owner

Leo Roybal is on a mission to introduce beer enthusiasts from around the world to the exceptional breweries and craft beer bars of Osaka, Japan. Originally from the US, he discovered his passion for American craft beer in 2004.

With years of experience working in various craft beer bars and cafes, attending tastings across the Southern US, and immersing himself in the craft beer scene, Leo has accumulated extensive knowledge and expertise.

Having lived in Osaka for nine years, Leo has explored the majority of craft beer establishments in the city and sampled their diverse offerings. He has also ventured to brewpubs and craft beer bars across Japan and enthusiastically participated in numerous craft beer festivals in the Kansai region.

Leo is a Certified Beer Server through the Cicerone program and has achieved all badges for each section of the online Certified Cicerone practice exams. He has completed the written portion of the Certified Cicerone test and is currently preparing for the tasting and demonstration segment.

 

Leo holds a Bachelor's of Applied Science degree with a minor in Japanese from East Tennessee State University and is a proud recipient of the NEST certificate in Japanese from Toyo University.
